The best and worst week all at once...

It's true... I really do love VBS week. It just gets so exhausting. You're there for hours, there's not much to eat, and should you know what it is you are going to say while on stage, don't expect that you will get a chance to do a real technical rehearsal.

Honestly though, I thought this was one of our greatest accomplishments in VBS history. We built the Set, came up with a skit (one of the best ones I remember), we even pulled of an Ad-Lib host segment that the kids truly seemed to enjoy, and we accomplished all this with no staff members running the show. It was truly an amazing example of what God's people can accomplish when they have no choice but to step up to the plate and get things done for the glory of God.

I got to hear a couple of the best invitations I have ever heard. The gospel was presented so clearly and so passionately that I would have gotten saved again if I could. I saw children worship. I worshipped.

My favorite part of the week however was the time that Justin Boothe and I were on stage interacting with the kids and generally making fools of ourselves. We had a few running gags throughout the week. First, every night after I would have some dilemma I would be told that dancing was the solution to my problem, enter the gorilla... I know, random... We also had commercials running all week for Grumps Sun Tan Lotion... again, enter the gorilla... just look...

Well wasn't that enlightening... I know... this is what we do. Oh and by the way... I lost my sideburns this week thanks to the kids raising over twenty three hundred dollars... Woot for that.

I'm reminded yet again how much I love this church, these people, and there heart for God and this city... Amazing.

It never gets old....

So I've said this before and I'll say it again. The Skinny Burrito from Barberito's may just be the most delicious thing on the face of the planet. Unlike the one pictured here; the perfect arangement of flavor includes the chipotle tortilla, rice, black beans, chicken, lettuce cheese, chipotle rance sauce, and a squirt of lime juice on every bite. MHMM...

Obviously though there is a balance in the world as I am now paying the price for my decision. Oh well... I still think it was worth it.

So on a completely different note, I got elected to the churches missions committee today. I'm going to be in charge of local missions. It should not to heavy a commitment for me, but I really wanted to be involved in church leadership in a more official way. I think this is a good step for me. Rumor has it that my first really big assignment on the committee is going to be developing some sort of a Flash driven website that displays all the information on all the missionaries local, nation, and foreign that we support. It should be pretty cool if it works out the way I see it in my head. I'll give you updates on the process as they come.

Well.... That's my big day... I'll let you consider it for a while...

And so it begins...

So I've decided to join the crowd and begin the "blogging" thing (blogging or bloging? sp.) I like the idea of being able to freely write about whatever I find myself thinking, but is that the point? What exactly is a blog anyway? Is it mearly an internet journal or diary of sorts..? Or should I be trying to let you delve deep into my mind (ooo scary)? Do I have present this similarly every post or can it change? Are there topics I should always ttry to include??? I'm an amature here... Sorry, I'm talking to myself... this will probably be a trend.

I digress...

I'm starting a blog... Woo Hoo! We should get aquainted... however brief (and one-sided) our introduction may be...

Me = Follower of Jesus Christ, Husband (Hi Love), Praise and Worship leader, Moocher (Hi Mom and Dad), Delivery driver at Office Depot, nerd, web design/video production know-it-all (hence the nerd thing), occasional gamer, and controversial sports fan (Roll Tide, Go Pats).

And who are you...?

Ok.... now that we know each other we know what to expect from each other (hopefully fewer parentheses next time... maybe). We should do this again sometime...
